I’ve picked up a a number of RV books in the past month and figured I’d offer up my impressions of them in case others might be considering them. The first one is “The Fifth Wheel Bible” by Jerry Brown. The title is a bit ambitious for this small 95 page book, but overall this was a decent enough book. The author does cover a great many aspects of selecting, towing, and operating a fifth wheel and given my extreme ignorance on the subject of all things RV’s, I learned quite a bit. Some highlights were the sections on tow vehicles, hitches, hook-ups, and general operation of your fifth wheel. The last two were especially enlightening as these were areas that I quite literally knew nothing about. The authors style was easy to read and I still refer to it quite a bit when I need to refresh my memory. Is this this the comprehensive reference that a name like “bible” might indicate? No way. each topic is only covered very briefly, but its’ still a useful all around introduction to fifth wheels if you’re as new to the topic as I was.
It was about $16 at Amazon and for me, well worth the price.
Thanks for letting me know about other good stuff!
